Supermarkets open sooner thanks to temporary power
Thanks to excellent teamwork the supermarkets could open their doors well before the electric connections were ready. Quite a challenge, but successful! In the autumn of 2015 two new supermarkets opened their doors in the centre of Rotterdam. The existing electricity grid had insufficient capacity for the power demand from the stores and its upgrade took some time. By using a container with generators the supermarkets could open their doors for the public sooner than initially foreseen.
Request from customer
The electrical contractor from Druten that took care of the technical installations of the supermarkets was looking for temporary additional power in order to compensate the lack of capacity of the grid. As the supermarkets are located in a residential area, it was important that the generators would cause as little noise pollution as possible. The electrical contractor also wanted to outsource all care for the temporary installation in order to be able to concentrate on the installation work inside the stores.
Solution
Bredenoord provided a container with 2 'super silent' 35kVA generators. The Bredenoord Transport service took care of the delivery and installation at a hard to reach location and positioned the container in such a way that road users were hardly hindered at all. During the ten weeks that the generators were necessary the service engineers also took care of the refilling of the fuel and the periodical maintenance of the sets.
