Full Service emergency power in distribution centre in collaboration with Den Doorn
Last year the emergency generator switched on six times for the emergency power pool. Every single time the installation performed properly.
Installation company Den Doorn involved Bredenoord for an emergency power supply in the brand new Hitachi Data Systems distribution centre. Den Doorn undertook different activities during the construction phase. Hitachi Data Systems had high demands for the emergency power supply of the production- and test facilities. The company also wanted to contribute to the local emergency power pool: in the event of mains failure partners provide each other with power.
Request from the customer
Installation company Den Doorn was looking for a reliable partner who could provide the technology for passive and active emergency power. This required technical know-how and a tailor-made solution. Because of the great importance of the emergency power supply preventive maintenance is essential, also the installation is tested at least every month. Den Doorn wanted to place the responsibility for the latter with a specialized partner.
The solution
Bredenoord thought along with the design and installation of the emergency power supply and took care of the actual installation. A choice was made for a quiet 1400 kVA installation. This contains a special control facility for grid-parallel operation and feed-in to the grid. In order to guarantee Hitachi a full power security Den Doorn signed a Full Service Contract with Bredenoord after the installation.
