The system captures soot particles and burns them off. The emission filter captures soot particles from the exhaust gases and recirculates them for after-combustion. Tests carried out by TÜV Rheinland show that Clear Air reduces soot emissions by 99.9 per cent. This performance is achieved both at low load and when the generator is running at full load. This makes a generator fitted with Clear Air suitable for locations where particulate emissions require particular attention. Examples include temporary power supply in city centres, tunnels, densely built-up areas, at events and on construction sites. ## Self-cleaning filter module Unlike particulate filter cartridges, which need to be replaced or emptied regularly, the Clear Air module cleans itself. The captured soot particles are burned off, ensuring the filter does not become clogged during use. As a result, the module does not need to be replaced prematurely and maintenance requirements are kept to a minimum. The Clear Air is available as an optional extra on standard Bredenoord diesel generators and does not affect the normal operation of the generator.
