We do this through our energy advice, a process consisting of meticulous research and measurements, which allows us to choose the optimal composition of systems. The final solution, which can consist of the grid, battery systems, a (backup) genset, solar panels or a combination thereof, seamlessly suits your needs. In this article we explain how this energy advice comes into being. In the past, before the introduction of solar panels, battery systems and other developments that have taken place since the start of the energy transition, your choice consisted of the grid or a genset. Back then and to this day this genset was often chosen based on a rough estimate of the peak power demand. The optimal load of a genset is around 80% of its capacity. This is when the genset uses fuel most efficiently and thus requires less of it. Naturally a smaller, optimally running genset is cheaper than a large genset selected based on the peaks in power demand. By thoroughly identifying these peaks in advance we can provide a significantly more efficient power solution. This can include a battery system to handle peak demand with, or a battery system as the main power source combined with a genset that only runs occasionally at its most efficient load to recharge the battery. ## How does Bredenoord’s energy advice work? Our energy advice starts with your energy demand. How much energy do you roughly expect to need? Do you expect large peaks in power demand? Which requirements regarding noise and emission apply to your project location? What budget is available? Based on your input and our own measurements of your energy demand we will map your user profile in as much detail as possible. Once we know how much energy your project requires per moment, which rules and requirements apply and which criteria you value yourself, we will make a proposal with the most fitting solution. Do you agree to the energy proposal? Then we translate this to a project plan and start on its execution right away. During the project Bredenoord is available at all times. In case of a sudden increase in power demand or any other questions we will come to your project location to adjust your energy solution, on the same day if needed. ### The most sustainable energy solution Does your project require you to limit the emission of CO₂ or NOx as much as possible? Then that will be the primary focus of your energy advice. The resulting energy solution can, for example, consist of a combination of the grid and our [Battery Box](https://www.bredenoord.com/en/rental/accessories/denox/). The Battery Box will handle peaks in the power demand and constantly recharge through the grid. If there is no grid connection available you can also choose to combine the Battery Box with a genset running on [HVO biodiesel](https://www.bredenoord.com/en/insights/hvo-diesel/). We can do this by choosing the smallest possible genset that will be running at 80% of its capacity during your project. That is the load at which a genset runs most efficiently. A battery can be added to this power solution to handle peaks in power demand. You can also choose to primarily use the grid for your power supply and only use a battery for peakshaving.
