They are rapidly electrifying their processes, facing nitrogen-related challenges or experiencing grid congestion. Within our Energy Storage innovation pillar, Bredenoord therefore sees the deployment of energy storage systems, such as batteries, as a crucial step in the energy transition. These systems make it possible to temporarily store generated energy and make it available at the right moment, which is essential in an energy system that is becoming increasingly dynamic and less predictable. ## Smart storage and distribution We launched our very first Battery Box 15, the ESaver, in 2012. In 2018, its bigger brother, the Battery Box 600, was added to the range. We now offer a wide range of Battery Boxes and continue to innovate in order to further expand and optimise our fleet. In today’s energy mix, the storage and smart distribution of energy have become indispensable. That is why we develop not only battery solutions, but also advanced charging systems in which power conversion (such as DC/AC and DC/DC) plays an increasingly important role. Our battery solutions are often used in combination with other energy sources, such as an existing grid connection, generators, methanol fuel cells or solar parks. Thanks to these hybrid applications, we can create a local smart grid with the Battery Box. This enables us to use available energy efficiently, significantly reduce CO₂ and NOₓ emissions, and minimise fuel consumption. In this way, we contribute to a cleaner, more reliable and future-proof energy supply. Testing was carried out using two 600kWh Battery Boxes from power supply specialist Bredenoord, connected parallel to deliver 1,000kW; around the same output as 20 electric cars.
