We faced the same problem at a recently renovated gas station in Bemmel, the Netherlands. Switching on heating equipment and ovens, in addition to the continuously running equipment such as cooling cells, asks a lot of power in a short amount of time. If the grid connection is insufficient, this can cause the main fuse to overload or even burn out, which, of course, is undesirable. There was really only one option: reinforcing the existing grid connection. However, since nowadays the grid is often already at capacity, this isn’t always an option. The gas station’s shop was renovated, in part by us, and asks more power during peak moments than the current grid connection can handle. The firm is building a new service center in Wunstorf, near Hannover.
