Apeldoorn/Biddinghuizen, 22 Augustus 2011 – This year, Llowlab, the floating stage of the Lowlands festival, deployed Clear Concept, a Bredenoord generator, for its energy supply. At Llowlab, the place where innovations in the field of sustainability are pivotal, the use of clean energy is self-evident. In the new concept of the Apeldoorn company, a Bredenoord generator runs on much cleaner synthetic diesel and a soot filter eliminates 99.9% of the soot emission.
Unique concept
As part of the ‘Fit for the future’ programme the Lowlands visitors could test themselves on their level of readiness for a sustainable future. Amongst others food of the future, construction techniques of the future and low-energy solutions could be seen and tried-out. Some clever technical inventions still require years of fine-tuning, however others are surprisingly tangible or even already fully deployable. The Bredenoord Clear Concept is one of these inventions. Because of the combination of Gas-To-Liquid (GTL) –diesel and a patented soot filter on the existing generators, this way of energy provision can already be deployed on a large scale, for example at events. Also the Lowlands visitors were surprised to find out that this solution was already in use and took care of the total sustainable energy provision of Llowlab. “I have never known that diesel did not have to be fossil. Really amazing that this is possible!”No wonder that the Clear Concept has a flying start: in addition to Lowlands it was already deployed at the Parade in Rotterdam and at Oerol this year.

Reuse
The synthetic GTL-diesel in the Clear Concept has its origin in the flare gas from the petrochemical industry. It is biologically degradable and does not contain aromatics and sulphur-containing compounds, and thus there is less emission. In the future, instead of flare gas, also biomass or waste can be used as a basis for the synthetic diesel. This reuse of materials has even less impact on the environment. Marketing manager Margien Storm van Leeuwen: “Bredenoord is the first rental company that offers GTL on a large scale. In combination with our unique Clear Air soot filter we offer a cleaner generator that is deployable at every level. In this way we provide our customers with the choice: from advanced techniques such as biogas fuel cells to this type of practical solutions for existing generators.”
Bredenoord
Bredenoord is a market leader in energy provision with a permanent, temporary or mobile character. Over 200 specialists work on solutions for every energy need at any desired moment via rental, sales or trade.
